I’ll get to the Secret Teacher post but first… Welcome to the new blog, I felt that there were so many shots and behind the scenes bits that I was shooting and didn’t have an outlet for so, I created this new blog. I shoot a lot, be it personal and commissions so I will hopefully be writing about the most exciting jobs here and letting you into my process.
For the first post, I shot the new publicity photographs for the Channel 4 show, the Secret Teacher. The shoot was at the location school near Birmingham and was students, teachers and the secret millionaire teacher. The premise of the show is a millionaire goes undercover at the school as a secret teacher to watch kids learn and how they interact – they then find children who need that extra bit of support or encouragement and nurture them and providing some benefits to the school as a whole.
This series features marketing mogul Paul Rowlett who’s business generates almost £30million annually. Formerly a Royal Navy Seamen and Iraq veteran he lost he home after leaving the services forcing him and his wife to live with different friends whilst claiming benefits. Paul set up Everything Branded from a cheap laptop, initially selling keyrings and promotional items and has expanded his Leicester based business to a 14,000 square foot warehouse employing over 130 people. Pauls a nice guy and we really got on and had a great time – laughing our way through what is meant to be a slightly serious shoot. Here are a few finished shots from the shoot with Paul, the children and the teaching staff.
